The game between closely ranked teams ended with second rankedSvitavy 's (13-2) home victory over 3rd placed Brno 2 (10-5) 93-76 on Sunday. Svitavy outrebounded Brno 2 47-36 including 16 on the offensive glass. Svitavy looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for the former international guard Pavel Slezak (186-1984) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 4 assists. Naturalized Slovakian point guard Roman Marko (192-1986) helped adding 10 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. Svitavy's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was point guard Marek Pulpan (193-2004) with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Tomas Stranel (201) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Svitavy . They maintain second place with 13-2 record having just five point less than leader H.Kralove. Loser Brno 2 keeps the third position with five games lost. They share it with Zlin. Svitavy will meet Novy Jicin (#5) on the road in the next round. Brno 2 will play against Zlin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
